Yan began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 22 while completing his Masters in International Relations in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His first idea was to change the paradigm of healthcare systems by ensuring patients were always front and center.

With over 11 years’ experience in the healthtech field, Yan has worked with more than 12,000 doctors across Canada and the U.S., governments, and the biggest players in the field (Wal Mart, Telus, Shoppers, etc.). He acquired enviable experience in the area of corporate funding, with more than 4 rounds of investments with U.S., Canadian, public and private funds.

Pomelo, which he co-founded in 2011, has become Canada’s biggest player in terms of patient communication, reaching over 1 million patients per month.
